Bureau report Naresh Goyal, a resident of Sangrur, has been arrested by the ED in the case of bank fraud. He was the founder of JET AIRWAYS. Naresh Goyal is accused of a scam of Rs 538 crore. 74-year-old Goyal will be produced in the special PMLA court. ED is seeking their custody.

Goyal was summoned to the ED’s Mumbai office for questioning. After a long investigation, he was arrested under (PMLA). Earlier he did not appear after being called by ED twice. This case is based on the FIR registered by the CBI. Naresh Goyal’s wife Anita, Jet Airways director Gaurang Anand Shetty and other people are also accused in this case.

This is the whole matter

In fact, Canara Bank had registered a case of fraud. . It was stated in the FIR that credit limits and loans of Rs 848.86 crore were sanctioned, of which Rs 538.62 crore is outstanding.

On May 5, the CBI searched 7 places including Goyal’s office in Mumbai. In the operation, the houses of Naresh Goyal, his wife Anita Goyal and the former directors of the airlines were also raided. Based on the CBI’s FIR, the ED had registered a money laundering case against Goyal on July 19.

The bank was accused of manipulating the money

The bank has alleged that the forensic audit of the company revealed that out of the total commission expenses, Rs 1,410.41 crore has been paid to the respective companies. In this way crores of rupees have been withdrawn from the company. It has been said that the Goyal family had paid the salary, phone bills and personal expenses of the vehicles to the employees from the subsidiary company of Jet, Jet Lite India i.e. JIL.

Jet Airways was once the largest private airline in India. The airline had the status of the largest private airline in the South Asian nation. Jet Airways was grounded on April 17, 2019 due to debt crunch.
