The government will sell cheap onions online

Prices of Onions: The rising prices of onions have started to make the common people cry. But the government is making efforts from head to toe to stop the inflation of onion. Recently, the government has announced that to curb inflation, it will sell onions at reasonable prices through online e-commerce. With this step of the government, the common people will get a lot of relief. Apart from this, the central government has started selling onions from the buffer stock.

In fact, the government has a stock of 3 lakh tonnes of onion, after releasing it in the market, the onion prices may come down. Currently, the price of onion in the market has reached 50-60 rupees per kg. On the other hand, in states where onion prices have increased, the government will sell them at cheaper prices through e-commerce.

Due to inflation in the market, the government will conduct an electronic auction of these buffer onions. When flour prices in the country skyrocketed, the government released a buffer stock of wheat. These were given to factories and other FMCG companies. Similarly, the government will now release regulatory stocks of onions in states where onion prices have skyrocketed. Let us tell you that in some states onion prices have reached 60-70 rupees per kg.

Also, the government can sell onions at cheaper prices on online e-commerce platforms like ONDC. Recently, the government started selling tomatoes on ONDC to curb inflation. Arrangements are also being made to sell onions to the people at cheap prices through the wholesale shops of state cooperative societies and government corporations.
