They have described it as an attack, the villagers said boreholes have been dug and crops have been plowed. When the people who came with the JCB machine were asked on whose order you have come, they said that we are the authority, even if the villagers showed the case papers in the court, there was no satisfaction. 12 bores have been dug and pressed into the earth.

A textile park was established in Ludhiana, named PM Mittal Scheme Talab Mega Integral Textile Region and Apparel Park, under this scheme the aim was to put India on the map of the world as a textile industry. The Ministry of Textiles of the Central Government was to establish 7 such parks across India. The textile park to be set up in Ludhiana was a part of this scheme. Both the Center and the Punjab government had to acquire land for the project. 1000 acres of land was marked around Mathwara Jangar and Satlut river. 957.39 acres of land was acquired by the Punjab Urban Development Authority for the project. Land was acquired from Garhi Fazal, Hyder Nagar, Garcha, Sekhonwal, Sailkiana and Salempur villages. But later, when the decision to set up the project in Mattewara was withdrawn, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann announced the return of the land.
