The Indian government has yet to start the operation to evacuate Indians stuck in Israel. The first charter flight carrying 212 Indians from Israel’s Tel Aviv airport arrived at Delhi airport this morning. Union Minister Rajiv Chandrasekhar welcomed the people at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi and inquired about their well-being.

A special flight carrying 212 Indians departed from Tel Aviv airport last Thursday, which arrived at Delhi’s IGI airport this morning.

An Indian national brought to India from Israel under Operation Ajay said, “After the war started in Israel, we started getting calls from our family and friends from India, everyone was worried about us. I thank the Government of India and the Ministry of External Affairs of India for bringing this operation safely from Israel to India for us.

Seema Balsara, who came to India from Israel, said, “I was working as an airport manager in Tel Aviv on behalf of Air India, I was there for the last 10 months, we were kicked out. The situation has been tense there for the last 4-5 days. We faced that situation and now we are here. My family lives in India, I was living there (Tel Aviv).”

Our priority is to bring back safely only those Indians who want to come back, the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement. As requests for repatriation continue to be received, flights will be scheduled accordingly. However, charter vessels are currently being used. But all options are open. The possibility of Indian Air Force’s help if needed cannot be ruled out. Let us tell you that there are 18 thousand Indians in Israel.
