Sarpanch Sandeep of nearby village Dadiana in Punjab's Hoshiarpur district was shot dead by three motorcycle-riding miscreants near the dump of China Dosadka on Thursday morning. After the incident, there is an atmosphere of terror in the village. The police have sent the body for post-mortem and started the investigation. SSP Surinder Lamba has also reached the spot.
According to information, Sarpanch Sandeep has a tile factory. The deceased sarpanch often raised his voice against drug addicts and drug sellers. Due to which he received threats many times. Giving information about the case, DSP Talwinder Singh said that after receiving the information about the murder of Sarpanch Sandeep, he has taken immediate action and started the investigation by sending the police team to the spot.
DSP Talwinder Singh said that in the morning three persons on a motorcycle came and fired shots at Sarpanch Sandeep. How many bullets the sarpanch took will be known only after the post-mortem. The sarpanch died on the spot due to bullet injuries.
According to the police, the names of three accused have been revealed. The accused are said to be from a nearby village. A raid is being conducted by the police to arrest the accused. The accused will be arrested soon.
