Farmers reach Jantar Mantar to support Wrestlers: The protest of wrestlers continues at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. Meanwhile, a large number of farmers from Punjab reached Jantar Mantar on Monday.
Farmers broke the police barricades. Along with this, the wrestlers have been appealed to maintain peace. Women wrestlers have accused WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh of sexual harassment.
The wrestlers are demanding action against WFI chief and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh over allegations of sexual harassment. So far, leaders of many political parties and organizations have supported the wrestlers’ strike.
The wrestlers have been protesting against WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh for the past one month. They have accused Singh of sexually harassing women wrestlers, physically abusing them and running the WFI in a dictatorial manner. Earlier, the farmers had reached Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on Sunday in support of the wrestlers. In which many farmer leaders joined.
Meanwhile, the United Kisan Morcha had warned the central government. Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait said that Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, accused of sexual harassment, should be arrested by May 21.
Addressing the media, Rakesh Tikait warned the central government and said, ‘The government should arrest the head of WFI by May 21 and give justice to our daughters. This is a big issue. There should be no politics on this. If not, they will decide on future strategy.
Tikait insisted that the Kisan Sangh and Khap Panchayat leaders will meet again on May 21 and decide what should be done next. Until then, Khap will come to Jantar Mantar every day to support our daughters. If anything happens to our daughters, the whole country will gather here to support them.
Wrestler Vinesh Phogat had said that the police had registered an FIR in the case but did not record a statement under Section 164. If our demands are not accepted, then a decision of struggle will be taken on 21st May. He also clarified that no one has hijacked this protest of wrestlers.
Along with this, the President of the Wrestling Federation Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has completely denied all these allegations of the wrestlers. Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh said that whatever allegations are being made against me, they are motivated by politics. Dipendra Singh Hooda and an industrialist’s hand is involved.
