Senior Constable and Home Guard arrested in Bribe Case: The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has arrested Senior Constable Kinder Singh, Home Guard Jujhar and a private individual Rohit Hans from Hoshiarpur on charges of accepting bribe of Rs.1 lakh. These accused have been arrested on the complaint of conductor Gurmail Singh posted at Punjab Roadways Depot Hoshiarpur.

Giving information in this regard, the official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said that the bus conductor approached the Vigilance Flying Squad-1, Punjab Mohali and filed a complaint that the said policemen had recovered a small amount of opium from his possession, after which they started blackmailing him by saying that if he did not pay a bribe of Rs 2.5 lakh, they would implicate him in a major case of drug recovery.

After preliminary investigation of the complaint, V.B. The team of Flying Squad-1, Punjab, laid a trap and caught Rohit Hans on the spot after taking a bribe of one lakh rupees from the complainant in the presence of government witnesses. After this, the Vigilance Bureau also arrested Senior Constable Kinder Singh and Home Guard Jujhar from Police Station Model Town, Hoshiarpur. VB teams are conducting a raid to catch the absconding constable Amit.

The spokesperson said that in this regard, FIR no. 25/2023 has been registered and further investigation is on.
