The difficulties of former minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu do not seem to be diminishing. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has seized 4 kg of gold jewelery from the sealed bank lockers of the accused named in the transport tender scam case. Their price is around 2.12 crore rupees.
According to senior agency officials, the team searched the seized bank lockers in Ludhiana on September 4 under provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) 2002. Earlier on August 24, the ED raided 25 locations of Bharat Bhushan Ashu and his accomplices in Ludhiana, Mohali, Nawanshahr, Jalandhar and Amritsar.
Meanwhile, Rs 6.5 crore was seized. Bank lockers were frozen. Now the total amount seized and frozen in this case has increased to Rs 8.6 crore.
