An Indian-origin woman was among nine people killed in a shooting in Texas on Saturday. According to a New York Post report, her name was Aishwarya Thattikonda, who was an engineer by profession and was associated with a private company as a project manager. At the time when the attacker opened fire, Aishwarya had gone shopping in the mall with her friend.
Aishwarya’s family hails from Hyderabad. He told news agency ANI that Aishwarya’s friend was also shot. However, he is now out of danger. The family is now preparing to bring Aishwarya’s body back to India.
According to the report of the Washington Post, the attacker who killed 8 people has been identified. His name is said to be Morcio Garcia. He is being called a Nazi supporter because of some badges on his clothes.
Along with this, the police is also investigating this matter from the angle of apartheid. Investigation revealed that the assailant had various types of weapons. Apart from the gun used in the attack, he also had 5 other guns.
After the Texas shooting, President Joe Biden said that mass shootings are destroying our country. He said that children are also included in the dead. He has asked the opposition parties to cooperate with him in making gun control laws.
The woman who was present during the incident said that the attacker had fired about 50 to 60 bullets. After which he died in police firing. Seven people have also been injured in this incident.
