The Japanese space agency JAXA said it has scouted a 600×4000 km area for landing. Slim has landed in this area. This place is in the polar region of the Moon. Because Japan's target was to land its spacecraft within 100 meters of the landing site and it has achieved success in this task.
The name of this landing site is Shioli Crater. It is said to be the darkest spot on the moon. Another possible landing site is Mayer Nectaris, also known as the Sea of the Moon. The Slim is equipped with advanced optical and image processing technology.
