Japan's moon mission has successfully landed on the moon. After America, Russia, China and India, Japan has now become the fifth country to land on the moon. Japan's space agency said its Smart Lander for Investigating Moon (SLIM) has made a soft landing on the lunar surface.

The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency has attempted to land a probe called Moon Sniper within 100 meters (328 feet) of the target. Japan's space agency has said it will take a month to confirm whether SLIM has achieved its exact targets.

The Japanese space agency JAXA said it has scouted a 600×4000 km area for landing. Slim has landed in this area. This place is in the polar region of the Moon. The big thing is that the aircraft made a precise landing right next to him for landing. Because Japan's target was to land its spacecraft within 100 meters of the landing site and it has achieved success in this task.

The name of this landing site is Shioli Crater. It is said to be the darkest spot on the moon. Another possible landing site is Mayer Nectaris, also known as the Sea of the Moon. The Slim is equipped with advanced optical and image processing technology.

Slim is also accompanied by the X-ray Imaging and Spectroscopy Mission (XRISM), which will orbit the moon and examine the plasma winds that flow on the moon, in order to trace the origin of stars and galaxies in the universe. It is jointly developed by Japan, NASA and the European Space Agency.

Japan also launched a moon mission on the morning of September 6, 2023, from the Yoshinobu Launch Complex at Tangeshima Space Center. The H-IIA is Japan's most reliable rocket. This was its 47th flight. It is manufactured by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. Its success rate is 98 percent. SLIM is a lightweight robotic lander. This mission is also called Moon Sniper. This mission is worth more than 831 crore rupees.
