The Center announced a big relief to the farmers, relaxation in the rules for the purchase of wheat

The central government has announced a relaxation in conditions for the purchase of wheat. The Union Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution has written a letter to the Punjab government that it will buy all the wheat coming in the markets. The ministry has said that a cut of Rs 5.31 to Rs 31.87 per quintal will be made in case of bad quality of fodder.

The Punjab government had requested the Center not to impose any cuts. In Punjab, 14.57 lakh hectares of standing crops have been affected. Till last night, 81519 quintals of wheat had arrived in the mandis but only 18 per cent could be procured as the conditions were not relaxed till last night.

Now the Indian government has said that no cut will be made on the MSP for Badrang grain up to 10 percent of wheat. A cut of Rs 5.31 per quintal will be made on 10 to 80 per cent badrang grain. According to reports, 35 to 80 percent of fodder has deteriorated in Punjab.

In the same way, no cut will be taken for damage up to 6 percent of the grain, but if the grain is shrunk or broken by 6 to 8 percent, then a cut of Rs 5.31 per quintal will be made. Rs 10.62 for 8 to 10 per cent, Rs 26.66 for 15 to 16 per cent and 31.87 per cent if 16 to 18 per cent grain is broken or shrunk. According to reports, 15 to 18 percent of fodder has been damaged in Punjab.
