Bureau Report: In Punjab, the weather department has predicted no rain for the next 2 days, but the situation in Patiala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Mohali, Kharar, Fatehgarh Sahib is still alarming. Especially the urban estate of Patiala is in a bad condition. NDRF and rural people are working to evacuate the trapped people with the help of tractors. There has been news that a Swift car in which 3 youths were riding has washed away in Rao river of Patiala on the way to Toga village in Maloya village of Chandigarh. The bodies of these three have been recovered. All the three youths are said to be from Mohali and they are residents of Bhagomajra village.
The bodies of three youths have been taken out of the canal by the Punjab Police during the rescue operation. The dead body is being identified. The police received a report that the car was washed away in the strong water. A search operation was started by calling the NDRF team. The police suspect that some other people are also involved. Due to the high speed of water in the river, the rescue took time. This operation was going on near Jhampur Bridge in Mohali.
A young man also drowned in Sutlej
On the other hand, in Lohian area of Shahkot, Jalandhar sub division, adjacent to Sutlej river, Dhusi dam broke in 2 places in Lakhe channa. Apart from this, Dhusi Dam also burst in Mandala near Sultanpur Sodhi. The road that used to go from the Dhusi Dam to the Pids has now been cut off. Meanwhile, a young biker trapped in the village of Lohian was swept away. The bike has been found but the youth has not been identified till now. The person drowned in the water has been identified as Arshadeep of Shahkot. The youth is being searched for in the Sutlej. But till now there is no trace of him.
