New Youth Policy: Punjab Youth Services Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hare said that the new youth policy is being brought in to give the right direction to the energy of the youth and to instill leadership qualities and confidence in them. On the instructions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the award is being started for the first time for youth clubs. Similarly, the selection system for the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Raj Yuva Award given to the youth will be rationalized.

While reviewing the department at the Punjab Civil Secretariat, Meet Hare said that if a program is drawn up to activate youth clubs, maximum number of youths should be covered. He said that youth clubs should come forward to boost social welfare work, awareness against drugs, environment maintenance, sports and cultural activities in the villages.

The Youth Services Minister said that more than 40 percent of the population of the state belongs to the youth and a comprehensive youth policy should be made to make the youth a participant in the development of the state and empower them. He said that maximum inter-state tours of the youth should be organized and youth exchange programs should be drawn up. Youth Adventure Club should be established. He said that if the Punjab State Inter-Varsity Youth Fair is organized this time like last year, the talent within the youth will come out.

Meet Hare also said that a plan should be made to bring competent officers from other departments on deputation to immediately fill the vacant posts of Assistant Director in the department and also write to the Punjab Public Service Commission to fill the vacant posts. He said that the construction work of Yuva Bhavan should be completed.

In the meeting Punjab Youth Development Board Chairman Parminder Singh Goldi, Special Chief Secretary Sarvjit Singh, Director of Youth Services Dr. Kamaljit Singh Sidhu, Assistant Director Kulwinder Singh and Rupinder Kaur were also present.
