Order to take strict action against son daughter-in-law and grandson who beat

The Minister of Women and Child Development ordered the Director of Social Security, Women and Child Development Department to investigate the matter and submit a report as soon as possible. Along with this, the Deputy Commissioner Ropar was directed to take legal action against the batterers under Section 327, 342, 344, 355 IPC and Section 6 Maintenance of Parents and Welfare of Senior Citizens Act. After which an FIR has been registered against the lawyer Ankur Verma who beat him up and arrested.
The Cabinet Minister said that he received information about the beating of the lecturer’s mother by the lawyer’s son at Ropar through the Sakhi One Stop Centre. Free services for women protection are provided at Sakhi One Stop Centers in the state.
The cabinet minister said that the Punjab government led by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is committed to the safety of women. He said that this matter is creating a sense of fear among the elderly in the civilized society and neglecting the elderly in the society.
Dr. Baljit Kaur said that he will take out an awareness march in the city as a protest against the incident that happened in Ropar so that people can be motivated to adopt proper attitudes towards the elderly. He said that with the occurrence of such incidents in the society, social relations are strained.
