Tecno Spark 8T Review: How much power is there in a phone with 50MP camera and 5000mAh battery, know

[ad_1]

There is a fierce competition in the Indian smartphone market in the range of Rs 8 to 15 thousand. Brands like Micromax, Lava, Nokia and Tecno are also showing their power with their devices amidst the dominance of companies like Xiaomi, Samsung and Reality. Tecno, the brand of Transsion Holding, has always been focused on design and cameras. In the Spark series, it tries to do something different. Tecno Spark 8T smartphone has been launched with this purpose. Priced at Rs 8,999, this device offers all the features that users want in their phones. We also checked this device. Check out its features. Also understood what could have been better. How is Tecno Spark 8T, know in review.

Tecno Spark 8T Design and Display

the techno Spark 8T is packed in a descent box. The smartphone, transparent cover, charger and charging cable are well placed in the medium size box. Like other brands, Tecno is also not offering headphones in the box.
We got the ‘Atlantic Blue’ variant of the Tecno Spark 8T for review. The back of the phone follows a balanced design. It has a large square camera module at the top that houses the flashlight and fingerprint sensor, along with the dual rear cameras. After this, it is seen on the strip given from top to bottom, where the branding of the phone is. It is shown separately with a matte finish, while the rest is in a glossy finish.

The power button and volume rocker are at the center of the device. Opposite it is the SIM tray, which has a slot for microSD card in addition to two SIMs. The single speaker grille, 3.5mm headphone jack and charging port are provided at the bottom, although the charging port is not Type-C.

Tecno Spark 8T has a 6.6-inch IPS LCD screen. It offers Full HD+ resolution with 1080 x 2408 pixels. The display is of water drop notch style, with thin bezels. The display chin is also not thick. This reduces the screen to body ratio and makes the display stand out. We liked the display color-contrast. Brightness is also fast. However, the display does not shine as much in outdoor and in strong sunlight. Despite this, due to the full HD resolution, it is fun during videos, movies and light-hearted gaming. The sound of the speaker grill is average. One should not even expect dual stereo speakers at this price point.

Tecno Spark 8T Performance and UI

Tecno Spark 8T is powered by MediaTek Helio G35 processor. It is equipped with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage. Devices like Reality C21, Redmi 9 Active and Oppo A54S also come with this processor. The performance of Tecno Spark 8T is decent. With 4 GB of RAM, browsing and social media apps are easily needed. Opening 5 to 8 windows simultaneously in Chrome browser was not a problem. Even if 5-6 apps keep running in the background, the phone does not get tired. But only a few lags do come on heavy use. Heavy gaming also cannot be done with this phone. Light-hearted games like ‘Ludo King’ will be able to play with fun.

The device runs on Android 11 operating system layered with HiOS custom UI from Tecno. This is not the device for those who want the feel of pure Android, as the HiOS user interface largely makes the phone its own. Small features are also attached with this UI. We also liked some of these. For example, with the help of HiParty feature, multiple devices can be connected together and play music. With the help of Audio Share feature, you can send audio to 2-3 Bluetooth devices simultaneously. With the SoPlay feature, you can create your own sound library and create your own music and add it to recordings.

Tecno Spark 8T Battery

As much as the Tecno Spark 8T impresses with its battery performance, its charging is equally frustrating. The phone has 5000mAh battery. It goes on for 2 days without getting tired. Even if you are a heavy user, there will be no need for charging before one and a half days. To charge this big battery, only 10 W charger is available. It takes more than two and a half hours to full the battery. Type-C port is in demand today, but that too is not available in this phone.

How are the Tecno Spark 8T cameras?

Tecno Spark 8T has a total of three cameras. There is a dual camera setup in the back. The 50 megapixel main sensor given here is a big strength of this phone and its cameras. In AI cam mode, the phone takes photos in a resolution of 12 megapixels. This is the resolution set by default in the Camera app. For 50MP resolution, the ‘Ultra Mode’ option has to be selected. After this, good detail comes out in the pictures clicked. We got good colors and contrast in shots taken during the day.

The 50MP camera is supported by an AI lens, which gives good portrait photos. There is also a beauty mode, which will appeal to those who do not want a single blemish on their face. Features like slow motion, timelapse are also available. These are for those who do more artistry with the camera. In low light environment, the camera struggles a bit and there is noise in the pictures. There is also no dedicated night mode. Although photos can be taken in the dark by turning on the camera flash, but it is not able to capture the whole environment.

Videos can be recorded up to Full HD resolution, whose results we find average. Tecno Spark 8T has an 8-megapixel selfie camera. It’s not great, but it’s average. There are good selfie clicks with beauty mode. In photo mode, the camera takes a picture just as you see it. There is no flimsy, which is a good thing. Good selfies came in portrait mode. On some occasions, the camera was seen struggling a bit with edge detection.

What to buy Tecno Spark 8T

Before making this decision, talk about one more feature of the phone. Its fingerprint sensor unlocks the phone fast. FaceUnlock is also fast. For Rs 8999, the Tecno Spark 8T impresses with its 50MP camera, 5000mAh battery, FHD+ resolution display. The design is decent. The phone is not very heavy either. The device is good for online studies and watching movies and videos. Camera performance is above average. If you want something different from realme-shaomi, then its user interface will also be liked. In terms of price, Tecno Spark 8T can be a good deal.
