Suspension of the RDF: BJP once again proved that they are anti-Punjab and anti-farmer. The BJP has a vendetta against the central government in Punjab and the suspension of the RDF is their latest discrimination against the state. These views were expressed by Aam Aadmi Party senior leader and Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema while besieging the Central Government and BJP Punjab leadership for suspending the Rural Development Fund of Punjab.
Addressing a press conference with AAP leaders Neil Garg and Anil Thakur in Jalandhar on Thursday, Harpal Cheema said that BJP is doing revenge politics. The farmers of Punjab led the peasant movement on all fronts and borders. He got the support of farmers in every state and eventually the BJP had to surrender to the farmers’ demands and repeal three anti-farmer laws. He said that more than 700 farmers of Punjab were martyred during the farmers movement on the borders of Delhi and the leadership of Bharatiya Janata Party is responsible for the loss of their lives.

Unable to digest its defeat, the BJP is now repeatedly targeting Punjab’s rights and funds. They want to weaken our state financially and systematically. Cheema said that this is the reason why earlier they were attacking our state rights and now they have removed the entire column of RDF (Rural Development Fund) from their official document. He said that due to this dictatorial step, Punjab is suffering a financial loss of 1000 crore rupees, this money was to be used for the development of the rural areas of Punjab as well as the grain markets of Punjab.
Condemning all the Punjab leaders who joined the BJP recently, Harpal Cheema asked whether the new ‘diamonds’ of the BJP would question the central government. Will Sunil Jakhar, who claims to be the son of a farmer, stand with the farmers? Atwal, who is contesting the by-election from Jalandhar on the BJP ticket, will he raise his voice for Punjab?
