Bureau Report: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has submitted another 2400-page supplementary charge sheet in the Kotakpura firing case. The SIT headed by ADGP LK Yadav has masterminded two important names, the first being the then Deputy Chief Minister and the then Home Minister of the state Sukhbir Singh Badal and the second being the then Director General of Punjab Police (DGP). ) is Sumedh Singh Saini.
The serious allegations against both of them are that they had hatched a deep conspiracy for the shooting and that both of them are the main conspirators. Apart from this, the role of former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, along with former police officers, has also been mentioned in the supplementary charge sheet.
‘Prakash Singh Badal co-conspirator’
In the 2,400-page supplementary charge sheet presented by the SIT, former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has been described as a co-conspirator and a facilitator in the entire incident. While the then commissioner of Ladhiana, Paramraj Singh Umranangar has also been made a co-conspirator in the Kotakpura shooting case. ‘Helping to carry out the incident secretly under a premeditated conspiracy’ It is stated in the supplementary charge sheet of the SIT that they secretly helped to carry out this entire incident under a premeditated conspiracy. The then SSP Moga Charanjit Sharma has also been made a co-conspirator for carrying out the entire incident under the conspiracy like Umranangal.
It is stated in the supplementary chargesheet that the then DIG Ferozepur Amar Singh Chahal and the then SSP Faridkot Sukhmander Singh Mann carried out the entire incident. The name of then SHO Gurdeep Singh of Kotakpura police station has also been included in the charge sheet. He is accused of distorting facts and manipulating records with illegal action under an agenda. This supplementary charge sheet was presented in the district court of Magistrate Ajay Pal Singh on the orders of the High Court.

In the challan of 2400 pages, approval has been obtained from the Punjab Government under U/S 197 CrPC. This 112 page supplementary chargesheet is framed by 2374 pages of relevant facts, documents, sanction order and CFSL report. Earlier SIT had presented the first challan of 7 thousand pages on 24 February 2023, in which 153, 119, 109, 34, 201, 217, 218, 167, 193, 323, 324, 504, under U/S 173 Sections 465, 466, 471, 427, 120B IPC, 25/27 – 54/59 of the Arms Act were imposed.
Both Sukhbir Singh Badal and Parkash Singh Badal have got bail in the first challan. Parkash Singh Badal got bail in the Faridkot court while Sukhbir Badal had to get bail from the High Court due to the cancellation of his bail.
