Bureau report : Hon’ble government has taken a big decision for the welfare of scheduled caste students. Post Matric Scholarship Scheme Scheme has been started for the students belonging to Scheduled Castes.
Minister of Social Justice Dr. Baljit Kaur said that the main objective of the Post Matric Scholarship Scheme is to provide assistance to students from extremely poor families to complete their higher education. Under this scheme, Punjab government will issue free-ship card to the students who are getting higher education after 10th standard. Online applications to apply for this scholarship are being taken at Dr. Ambedkar Scholarship Portal https://scholarships.punjab.gov.in.

The Cabinet Minister said that the student taking advantage of this scheme should be a resident of Punjab state and belong to Scheduled Caste. The annual family income of the student’s parents should not exceed 2.5 lakh rupees and he should be studying in a government, recognized and private university, college or school. can get the benefit of this scheme.
Dr. Baljit Kaur said that the free-ship card is to be issued only to the fresh (first year of the course) students. Procedures for applying for a free-ship card are listed in the Student Registration and Free-Ship Card manuals in the Help menu of the portal. Renewal students do not need to apply for the scholarship. Their applications are based on Institution ID. are automatically generated in Apart from this, the applicant’s bank account should be Aadhar seeded and in active mode for scholarship payment and income certificate issued by Tehsildar/NAB Tehsildar for fresh students will be considered.
