The Indian stock market managed to close in the green for the second day on Wednesday. During early trade on Wednesday, the BSE benchmark index Sensex fell 225.95 points, or 0.37 per cent, to open at 60,806.31. Similarly, NSE’s Nifty also opened at 17,875.35 points with a loss of 54.50 points. There were ups and downs in the trading throughout the day. However, the market closed higher in the last hour as buying returned in heavyweights. The BSE Sensex climbed 242.83 points to close at 61,275.09. At the same time, the NSE Nifty also closed at 18,015.85 points with a gain of 86.00 points. Heavyweight share Reliance Industries played an important role in turning the market from red to green. Reliance’s stock was strong today for the second consecutive day. At the end of trading, Reliance Industries shares climbed 2.50% to close at Rs 2437.00. Tech Mahindra, Bajaj Finance, Airtel, M&M, Nestle, Tata Steel, Maruti, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Asian Paints played an important role in strengthening the market. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 20 advanced and 10 declined.
