The “Child’s smile” is voluntary non-profit organisation which operates in Greece, with the aim of protection of children’s rights and dealing with their daily problems.

THE action it includes among others the hospitality of children at risk, their telephone support, counseling and social integration programs, the support of families in poverty, as well as the organization of information campaigns or cultural and sports events.

Child’s Smile is looking for suitable candidates to fill the positions:

Social Worker

Main duties and main responsibilities

Manage support requests and find resources/grants
Social, counseling and material support of families
Download social history
Collaboration with state or non-state services with the aim of holistic family support
Home visits
Advisory support on lines 1056 and 116111, management of emergency cases on lines 1056 and 116000 in the area of the prefecture of Ilia
Management of referrals of medical cases both from public bodies and from the family itself or the wider family environment of the sick child
Contribution to the organization of all the actions of the organization required for the timely gathering of the necessary items to support the families

Necessary qualifications of candidates

Degree in Social Work (HEI or TEI) and license to practice the profession
Professional ability and relevant experience of at least 3 years
Excellent knowledge of the English language
Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, Internet, PowerPoint)
Excellent ability to write letters to agencies, services and sponsors
Driving license

Guide

Main duties and main responsibilities

Strictly complies with the Road Traffic Code and the conditions for the safe transport of children (schools, tutoring, events, visits, excursions, holidays, medical appointments)
He is responsible for the good condition, maintenance and cleanliness of the vehicles on site
Reception / transport / delivery of various items in all areas of the Organization (food, clothing, etc.)
On-site intervention accompanied by specialist staff

Necessary qualifications of candidates

C’, D’ and E’ category driver’s license and corresponding experience required
PEI Certification (Certificate of Professional Competence)
Tachograph card
High school diploma
Experience as a driver at least 3 years
Experience driving large vehicles and manual work
Communicative, organizational, reliable serious & kind character
With responsibility and love for children

Educator

Main duties and main responsibilities

He/she is responsible for the best possible stay of the children at home and undertakes the care and safety of the children around the clock
Manages, in the manner indicated by the psychologist, the children’s crises
Contributes/participates in and monitors the cleanliness and well-groomed appearance of the children
Employs the children according to their daily employment schedule, in the preparation of which he contributes with responsibility, patience and love
Actively participates in children’s psycho-pedagogical activities
Participates in house staff group meetings
He accompanies the children on their summer vacation
He works with the volunteers of the house

Necessary qualifications of candidates

Degree in pedagogic studies or social sciences from HEI, TEI, IEK or Vocational Lyceum degree in Social Care
Previous experience in child protection or dealing with children and teenagers – at least 2 years
Professional license, where required
