Chandigarh: Samyukta Kisan Morcha non-political has announced that a firm front will be announced against the Punjab government by holding a meeting at Kisan Bhavan Chandigarh on April 21 against the government’s non-implementation of the agreed demands.
Before this, against the government’s careless policy towards the demands of the farmers, on April 15, Agriculture Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal and Food Supply Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak will sit and hand over demand letters and the non-political volunteers of SKM will visit the villages surrounding the silos. A campaign will also be launched to make farmers aware.
These announcements were made today after the meeting of Sanyukta Kisan Morcha non-political Kisan Bhawan Sector 35 Chandigarh, which was jointly chaired by S. Jagjit Singh Dallewal, Sukhdev Singh Bhojraj and Harsulinder Singh Kishangarh.
Jointly issuing a press statement, the leaders of the front have said that from 18 May 2022 to 24 November 2022, the demands accepted during the meetings held with the Cabinet Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal and the Hon’ble Chief Minister at different times, in which the farmers and laborers are given crops and livestock Compensation for pecuniary loss was supposed to be paid by December 31.
Apart from this, the government had taken time till March 31 to fulfill all other demands, including compensation for the damage caused to soft paddy etc. crops, but these have not yet been fulfilled at the ground level. Apart from these, there are other farmers’ demands, which the government is doing nothing to fulfill. Therefore, these announcements have been made by the front today.
