Singer Satvinder Bugga booked for unintentional murder

A case of unintentional murder has been registered against Punjabi singer Satwinder Bugga in Fatehgarh Sahib. On 23 December 2023, her sister-in-law died in a land dispute with her brother. Bugga's associates Hazara Singh and Harvinder Singh are also named in the FIR.

Brother Davinder Singh Bhola alleged that Satvinder Bugga pushed his wife Amarjit Kaur during the fight. Due to severe head injury, his condition continued to deteriorate. He died when they took him to the hospital. After Amarjeet's death, her husband Davinder refused to cremate her.

He said that he will not perform the last rites until a case is registered against Satwinder and his accomplices. Davinder Singh Bhola also made serious allegations against the police. After this, Davinder Singh resorted to the High Court. On 6 January 2024, the post mortem of Amarjit Kaur was conducted by the board of doctors after the orders of the High Court.

The report revealed that Amarjeet Kaur died due to head injury. Fatehgarh Sahib police have charged IPC under sections 304 (culpable homicide), 323 (marauding), 341 (encroachment on the road), 506 (criminal intimidation). And a case has been registered under section 34. Among them, Section 304 is a non-bailable section.
