Shelley Oberoi has been elected as the Mayor of Delhi for the second time today. Before this, she was elected mayor of Delhi on 22 February. He defeated BJP’s Rekha Gupta by a margin of 34 votes. Shelley got 150 votes, while Rekha got 116 votes out of a total of 266 votes.

Let us tell you that in the election for the post of mayor in Delhi, there was a direct contest between Aam Aadmi Party’s Shelley Oberoi and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Shikha Rai. There is an AAP government in Delhi Municipal Corporation.

Elections to the post of Mayor in Delhi are held by rotation for five terms of one year each. The post of mayor is for women in the first year, while in the third year it is for the reserved category. In other three years (2nd, 4th and 5th) this post is for unreserved category.
