Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami has expressed grief over the loss of life and property due to the earthquake in Turkey and Syria and has offered assistance from Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee.
Advocate Dhami, Ambassador of Turkey in India Firat Sunel, Ambassador of India in Turkey Dr. Varinderpal, Mr. Surinder Kumar Yadav in charge of the Indian embassy in Syria and Dr. Ambassador of Syria in India. Expressed condolences by writing a letter to Bassam Sifeddin Alkhatib.
He said that in Sikhism, ‘Distribution’ and ‘Sarbat da Bhala’ are important principles bestowed by the Gurus and in the light of this, the Shiromani Committee, the foremost body of Sikhs, works to help the needy.
He said that the Shiromani Committee has always been active in the service of humanity during natural calamities and has been providing clothes, ration and other necessary items as assistance to the needy as per the need. Advocate Dhami said that due to the huge loss of life and property caused by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria, there is heartfelt sympathy with the citizens living there.
He said that he shares the suffering of the people at such a time and appeals for coordination with the Shiromani Committee by offering assistance from the Sikh organization to the governments there.
