Settlement of 98 percent of the complaints received during 16 months

Punjab News: Water Supply and Sanitation Minister Bram Shankar Jimpa has informed that more than 98 percent of the complaints received in the department during 16 months have been settled. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, it is the priority of the government to provide clean drinking water in the villages of the state and for this purpose, the water supply and sanitation department is working with all sincerity and diligence.

He said that many schemes are being worked on to keep the villages clean and garbage free. Gimpa said that on the toll free number 1800-180-2468 issued by the department, if a villager or panchayat requests water supply, R.O. If a complaint is received regarding plant, sewage or private toilets, it is resolved by the concerned officer in a timely manner. 24 thousand 277 complaints have been registered on this number from 16 March 2022 to 18 July 2023, out of which 23 thousand 918 complaints have been resolved. This rate of redressal of complaints is 98.52 percent.

Bram Shankar Jimpa said that after the resolution of the complaint, feedback is also taken from the complainant and if he is not satisfied with the resolution of the complaint, then appropriate action is taken again on his complaint. The minister said that the government led by Bhagwant Mann is making all efforts to provide clean drinking water and adequate sewage facilities to the villagers of Punjab.

He said that despite the flood situation in the state, clean drinking water was provided to the affected people through alternative arrangements and most of the water supply schemes which were affected during this time have been repaired and made operational.

Gimpa appealed that any villager should not hesitate to submit his views regarding any kind of complaint or suggestion regarding water supply and sanitation. They are committed to solving it. He said that the Punjab government will leave no stone unturned in improving the welfare and standard of living of the people.
