So far 29 people have died. 1390 villages of 14 districts are affected. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has released a fund of 10 crores for the repair of water supply schemes.

A case has been registered against MLA for breaking the dam

The Drainage Department has registered a case against MLA Inder Pratap Singh on behalf of Independent MLA Rana Inder Pratap Singh of Sultanpur Lodhi near Bharoana village of Kapurthala for breaking the Dhusi Dam with JCB machine. In this regard, Police Station Sadar Kabirpur Lakhwinder Singh said that he has received a letter from the Drainage Department, in which action has been taken against MLA Rana Inderpratap Singh for breaking the embankment without permission.

Haryana and Rajasthan refused, leaving water to Pakistan
Due to flood situation in Punjab, Punjab has to release surplus water to Pakistan. The Punjab government has written a letter to BBMB regarding this matter. Punjab has accused Haryana and Rajasthan of not taking extra water from the canals.
