Section 144 has been implemented in Hoshiarpur district. These will remain in force till July 20. DC Komal Mittal has issued orders in this regard. Section 144 will remain applicable so that no untoward incident takes place in the 8th re-appearance examinations. Legal action will be taken against those who violate the order.
According to the letter issued by the Vice Chairman of the Punjab School Education Board, the 8th re-appearance exams are from July 4 to July 15. DC Komal Mittal said that during the examinations, the relatives of the examinees and other persons gather around the examination centers due to which there is a fear of untoward incident. Due to this, orders have been issued to enforce Section 144 within 100 meters of examination centers in the district.
Keeping all these things in mind, the rights granted under Act No. 2 of 1974 have been used. In such a situation, gathering of 5 or more persons within 100 meters radius of all examination centers within the district limits will be prohibited till July 20.
