Another criminal case has been registered against former US President Donald Trump. Trump’s lawyer Jim Trusty told CNN that the former US president has been charged under the Espionage Act. Apart from this, he is also accused of conspiracy, making false statements, obstruction of justice, tampering with records and forging documents.

Earlier on Wednesday, Trump’s lawyers were notified that they were the target of an investigation into taking home classified files. A few days ago, Trump’s lawyers also met with Justice Department officials to discuss the matter.

Trump said – I am innocent
Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social on Thursday – I am innocent. I received information from the Department of Justice about the filing of a criminal case. I have been asked to appear in court on Tuesday (June 13). Biden’s corrupt government has informed my lawyers about this.

Consider the case involving classified documents… Trump lost the presidential election in January 2021. He was alleged to have taken a number of classified documents from the White House to Mar-a-Lego, a luxury home in Florida. He also refused to hand over these documents to the National Archives. After this, the matter was referred to the FBI. According to the New York Times, the FBI recovered more than 300 intelligence documents from Trump’s home and his private club in the investigation.

A few days ago, CNN claimed to have found an audio recording in which Trump himself admitted that he had taken classified files to his home after losing the election. In the audio, Trump is saying that he had kept the Defense Department file with him, which contained information about the attack on Iran.
