Delhi : Due to continuous torrential rain since last day, rain water has started causing havoc in Rupnagar district. Due to inundation of rain water in many parts of schools, villages and cities of the district due to continuous rain since last day, the district administration has announced Monday holiday in all government and private schools/colleges and other educational institutions of Rupnagar district. . Giving information in this regard, D.C. Rupnagar Dr. Preeti Yadav said that it is very difficult for children to go to school due to flood-like conditions in villages and cities, due to which all the educational institutions of Rupnagar district will remain closed on July 10.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has canceled the Sunday leave of all government officials and directed them to go to the field in view of the problems faced by the people due to heavy rain in the national capital. Kejriwal said that Delhi Cabinet Minister and Mayor Shelley Oberoi will inspect the rain-affected areas in the city. In a tweet in Hindi, the Chief Minister said, “Delhi received 126 mm of rain yesterday. Delhi receives 15 percent of the total rainfall during each monsoon, which has fallen in the last 12 hours. Due to the accumulation of rainwater, people are facing problems.” In the last 24 hours, 153 mm of rain has fallen in Delhi till eight o’clock this morning. According to the Meteorological Department, this is the highest rainfall in a day since July 1982. On 25 June 1982, Delhi received 169.9 mm of rain.
Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains has made an appeal to the common people. Bains tweeted that the residents of the constituency are requested to cooperate with the administration, vacate the villages that are being talked about to be evacuated, your langar water, complete arrangements are being made for living. All colleagues are also requested to help the people living in crude/weak houses in their respective villages and cities, arrange their accommodation in Guru Ghar, Temple, safe place and reach them. Apart from this, take care of the animals and bring them to a safe place. Contact us for any other assistance.
The residents of the constituency are requested to cooperate with the administration, vacate the villages which are being spoken to be vacated.
All colleagues are also requested to help the people living in poor/weak houses in their respective villages and towns.

The ditches have overflowed and the tanks of many villages have also overflowed. BBMB teams are deployed to keep the canals safe. There are reports of landslides and damage to houses in many places in Himachal Pradesh due to heavy rain. Meanwhile, five people have lost their lives. Three members of a family died in a house due to landslides due to rain in Kotgarh area of Shimla district. In Kullu town too, a woman living in a house died due to landslides. Similarly, in another incident, a person was buried alive under the debris due to a landslide in Katyan tehsil in Chamba on Saturday night. According to the State Emergency Operation Center, there have been reports of landslides at 13 places and floods at 9 places in the last 36 hours. Due to heavy rain in Mandi, Kullu, Lahore and Spiti districts, private and government properties have suffered huge damage.
