Bureau Report: In Bahla village near Gardiwala of Dasuha located in Hoshiarpur, a married man has ended his life after being upset with his in-laws. It is alleged that the husband and in-laws were pressuring them to pay money. Based on the statements of the deceased daughter’s father, the police have registered a case under 306, 34 IPC against the husband and mother-in-law and further action has been initiated. This is the second time in 2 days that the daughter has to take the step of ending her life after being fed up with the in-laws family.
The deceased’s father Lakhwinder Singh told the Gardiwala police that the daughter Sandeep Kaur was 31 years old. He got married on 17th April 2022 in Satvir Singh village Bahla Gardiwal. Meanwhile, the son-in-law Satvir Singh was pressuring the daughter to ask for money repeatedly, so that she could go abroad with this money.
The daughter was assured to arrange the money
The father said that I had assured my daughter that we are arranging the money. At the time of marriage, in-laws said that we will arrange money and send Sandeep Kaur and husband Satvir Sigh abroad, my daughter told that mother-in-law Harjit Kaur and husband Satnam Singh were putting a lot of pressure on me to bring money.
A case was registered against the husband and mother-in-law on the complaint of the father
Father Lakhwinder Sigh said that my daughter was forced to give her life. He has alleged that daughter Sandeep has ended her life because of her husband Satveer Singh and mother-in-law Harjit Kaur. Based on the complaint, the police has nominated both of them.
