Sadhu Singh Dharamsot will be produced in court today

Sadhu Singh Dharamsot’s problems are not diminishing. Former Congress Minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot is constantly facing difficulties. He is already involved in the forest scam case and now the Vigilance Bureau has arrested the former minister on Monday in the case of disproportionate assets. On Monday, Sadhu Singh was called for questioning by the vigilance. Meanwhile, he was arrested under section 13 (b), 13 (a) of the new FIR registered in Mohali police station.

In the investigation, it has been found that his income is 269 percent more than the sources. In June last year, vigilance arrested Dharamsot and two of his associates on charges of issuing permits for felling of khair trees and transferring government officials by taking bribes.

After being in jail for about three months, the High Court granted him bail on September 5. The former minister will be produced in the Mohali court on Tuesday.

The Vigilance Bureau had registered an FIR under Section 13(1)(b), 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act against former Forest Minister Dharamsot in the case of disproportionate assets. During the vigilance investigation, it was revealed that during the investigation period from March 1, 2016 to March 31, 2022, the income of Dharamsot and his family was Rs 2,37,12,596, while the expenditure was Rs 8,76,30,888.

The ex-minister’s expenditure was Rs 6,39,18,292 more than his sources of income, about 269 per cent. Sources have informed that a vigilance team has been mobilized to find out more property of Dharamsot.
The stipend scam is also being investigated against Dharamsot. Two days ago, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had also announced that the culprits of the stipend scam would be behind bars and they would be charged one penny each.
