Renovation of roads is the main priority of the Punjab government: Harbhajan Singh ETO

Public Works Minister and Power Minister Punjab Harbhajan Singh ETO said that renovating the state's roads is the top priority of the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. He said that the Punjab government is working very seriously to strengthen the road network of the state and no black spot will be left in the state.

He was addressing the residents of Dasuha today in the presence of Constituency MLA Karambir Singh Ghuman while inaugurating the work of strengthening Dasuha-Kamahi Devi Road which will be 20.23 km long at a cost of Rs 9.50 crore. Meanwhile MLA Urmur Jasveer Singh Raja Gill, Constituency In-charge Mukerian Prof. G. Apart from S Multani, SDM Dasuha Pradeep Singh Bains, other dignitaries were also present.

Addressing an impressive function on this occasion, the Public Works Minister said that this road is a very important road in the coastal region and it connects the National Highway Jalandhar-Pathankot (NH-44) from Dasuha to Talwara, Dholwaha, Haryana with Kamahi Devi. . He said that religious places like Pandav Sarovar Temple, Baba Lal Dayal Ji Temple and Kamahi Devi Temple are located on this road, which are well recognized in the entire region.

Apart from this, about 30-40 villages have to come and go on this road. He said that the last repair of this road was done in the year 2013 under the Pradhan Mantri Sadak Yojana and according to the rules it was supposed to be repaired in 2018 but the previous government did not take any improvement of this road and now the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. The current Punjab government is strengthening the road network in the state and this road is also being constructed in the same series.

He said that the construction of the road will be completed by 26 September 2024. Harbhajan Singh ETO said that along with road construction, electricity network has also been strengthened in the state. He said that when the Aam Aadmi Party government was formed in the state, the Power Corporation was in a loss of Rs 1880 crore and after the formation of our government, even after giving 600 units of free electricity to the people, the Power Corporation is in a profit of Rs 564 crore.

He said that the electricity situation in the state is very strong and the Punjab government fulfilling its guarantee has delivered 600 units of free electricity to the people, due to which more than 90 percent of the people of the state are getting zero electricity bill at present.

MLA Dasuha Karambir Singh Ghuman thanked the Public Works Minister for this work and said that the road network is being strengthened in the area with his efforts.

He also thanked Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Maan who has fulfilled every demand of Dasuha Vidhan Sabha constituency on priority basis. Axion Public Works Department Manjit Singh, SDE Devinder Pal, JE Yadwinder Sodhi, Baldev Raj, Ashok Kumar and other dignitaries were present on this occasion.
