Religious fervour marks Mahashivratri celebrations in Mohali ; RWAs hold langar | Punjab

Mahashivaratri 2023: Devotees celebrated Mahashivratri with religious fervour on Saturday. Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) at various places in Mohali organised langar on the occasion.

Varun Vasudeva, president of the Residents’ Welfare Association, Sivanta Greens, Sector 85, Mohali, said, “To mark the occasion, they organised langar of milk and fruits in the area. Milk and pakoras were especially arranged for people living in the nearby labour colony. Children were given packets of biscuits and stationary items.”

Earlier in the day, a yajana was also organised, where a priest performed the rituals and offered prayers for the welfare of everyone, he added.

Similar celebrations were witnessed in Phase 2, 4, 3A, and Sectors 78, 70 and 80 of Mohali. To mark Mahashivratri 2023, a special health checkup camp was also organised at Wave Estate, Sector 85, with help of RWA, Block A, and medical fraternity. Woman were scanned for breast cancer free of cost. BP and other related tests were also conducted. At least 40 mammography tests were done free of cost.

The camp was held in association with Sohana Hospital.
