After this decision Gurmej Singh in connivance with Patwari Abhijot Singh took 7 kanals 14 marles of additional land and when the complainant approached the reader of Patwari and Tehsildar, they asked him to stop the execution for one month on the order of Tehsildar. Demanded a bribe of Rs.
The spokesman said that after the preliminary investigation of this complaint, the team of the Vigilance Bureau set a trap and arrested these two accused on the spot by taking a bribe of Rs. 50,000 as the first installment from the complainant in the presence of two government witnesses. In this regard, a case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act against the reader of the Patwari and Tehsildar at Police Station Vigilance Bureau, Amritsar Range and further investigation of the matter is ongoing.
