Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das has been honored as the top central banker at the global level by the US-based magazine Global Finance. He has been given an ‘A Plus’ rating in the Global Finance Central Banker Report Card-2023. In this list, three central bank governors have been given ‘A plus’ rating, in which Das topped the list. Switzerland’s Governor Thomas J. Jordan was second and Vietnam’s Governor Nguyen Thi Hong was third.
The Global Finance Journal said that success in inflation control, economic growth targets, monetary stability and interest rate management has a scale ranging from Grade ‘A’ to Grade ‘F’. Grade ‘A’ indicates superior performance while grade F means complete failure.Earlier the London Central Bank awarded Shaktikanta Das with the Governor of the Year honor in June 2023.

RBI Governor Shakti Das said in a program in Indore that the reduction in the rate of vegetables like tomatoes is expected to reduce inflation from this month. He said that in order to control the inflation, the government is taking various measures like ban on the export of non-basmati rice and reduction in the price of cooking gas cylinders.
