The State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) of the Punjab Police has recently busted an extortion racket backed by gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The police have arrested the two main accused of the gang, from whom two 32 bore pistols along with two live cartridges have been recovered. Among the arrested accused are Trilochan Singh alias Rahul Cheema resident of Sector-26 Chandigarh and Harish alias Harry alias Baba resident of Budhania village Jhajjar district Haryana.
SAS Nagar AIG, SSOC Ashwini Kapur said that they had received intelligence that some members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang were making threatening calls to extort money from businessmen and influential people in Punjab and neighboring states. They are also planning to carry out target killing in the area.
The police team showed urgency and made the arrest
AIG Ashwini Kapoor said that the team of SAS Nagar police arrested the first accused Trilochan Singh along with two live cartridges and a pistol while taking immediate action. Then on Tuesday, the accused Harish alias Harry was also arrested with a pistol.

Show of arms on social media
The AIG said that preliminary investigation revealed that both the arrested accused wanted to become famous. For this, they had also created profiles on various social media platforms. Through them, the accused used to display weapons and bullets to mislead the naive youth. The accused used to lure gullible youths to work for the gang. For this, they used to offer royal life to youths by promising them good money in exchange for being a part of the gang.
Accused on police remand for three days
The AIG said that the two accused have been produced in a local court and their three-day police remand has been obtained. Further investigation is on to trace and arrest other members of their module to interrogate the accused. Police have registered a case under various sections of Arms Act and IPC in SSOC Mohali police station on September 11.
