Rain warning in 5 districts of Punjab

Weather Update: There is no relief from the floods in Punjab yet. The impact of the flood has reached the border villages. But in the meantime, the Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert in five districts of Punjab. A rain alert has been issued in Ferozepur, Moga, Mansa, Barnala and Sangrur during the next three hours.

Along with this, there is a possibility of rain again in Himachal. If this rain is normal then everything will be under control. But if the rains once again go out of control, then the situation in Himachal Pradesh as well as Punjab may worsen once again.

CM Bhagwant Mann is on a visit to Ferozepur today. They will reach Ferozepur around 11 am. It may be mentioned that problems are increasing in Ferozepur for the last two days. The water level is still there. About 25 houses have collapsed in Dhakka Bassi village of Ferozepur. Today, the villagers can ask CM Bhagwant Mann for a solution to their problem.

More damage is now being seen in West Malwa due to Thursday’s floods. Along with this, the Meteorological Department has predicted rain in Punjab as well. According to which, there is a 50 percent chance of rain in the adjoining districts of Himachal Pradesh and 30 to 50 percent in the rest of Punjab. On the other hand, the Pattar-Khanori bridge in Patiala was washed away. Due to which Sangrur Road has been cut off from Delhi.

On the other hand, the Hazare bridge built on the Sutlej river in Ferozepur has been swept away. Due to which around two dozen villages have been affected. About 60 villages of Ferozepur have been submerged in water.

The water level in Bhakra Dam is continuously increasing
The water level in Bhakra Dam reached 1631.18 feet on Thursday. It is growing much faster than in the past, which is a matter of concern. According to the information received from Bhakra Dam Management, the maximum storage capacity of the dam is 1680 feet but the flood gates are opened at 1645 feet.

If the water level goes beyond 1645 then gates may have to be opened depending on the situation and water input. Which will have a direct impact on Punjab.
