Municipal Corporation Commissioner Aditya Uppal is claiming that the teams of the Corporation are present at the spot and are trying to open the square. On the other hand, till June 22, the meteorological department has already issued a yellow alert for rain. Due to which water is being released from the Pong dam on the Beas river due to heavy rain, due to which the lower parts have started sinking. In Munda village of Tarn Taran, there has been a crack in the dam built to prevent the flow of river Beas. Due to this, the water has reached about 8 to 10 villages in this area. The fields in the village are completely filled with water. The paddy crop is completely submerged. Farmers say that along with the water, there has also been a smell, due to which the fields have deteriorated.

Dhusi dam broken at 3 am

The boy of Tarn Taran and the people of Gujarpura said that due to the increase in the flow of water in the river Beas, there has been a crack in the Dhusi Dam. After which the water level is continuously increasing. According to the villagers, 6 to 7 kilometers of fields in their area have been submerged in water, they are putting soil bags.

The flood water moved towards Sardulgarh city

After the breach of Dhusi Dam in Ghaggar River and Chandpur, the water released is engulfing the rural areas and is rising towards Sardulgarh city. People started building earthen embankments at their level wherever water is suspected to come around the city. People have started coming out of their houses. Animals are also being taken to a safe place.

Water has reached the Mansa-Sirsa National Highway in Sardulgarh. The slums which are on the side of the road have been removed from there and sold in Saman Dana Mandi. People have started shifting to Dana Mandi.
People are angry that the administration was asked to send the JCB machine so that the soil can be dug up and the dam built. But the administration has not done anything so far. People say that 4-4 feet of water has reached around Sardulgarh.

1,71,797 cusecs of water released from Uj river

Due to the continuous rain in the hilly areas, the water level in the rivers and canals has increased. Under which water was released from Uj river in Gurdaspur. Gurdaspur DC Dr. Himanshu Agarwal said that 1,71,797 cusecs of water was released in that river. The Deputy Commission has cautioned the people living around Uj and Ravi rivers. They have been instructed to stay away from the river.
