Lucknow. Indian Railways has achieved a significant milestone in the matter of railway electrification. Indian Railways has completed the work of electrification of all BG routes in Uttar Pradesh. The Prime Minister posted in response to a tweet by the Ministry of Railways, which announced 100 per cent electrification of the broad gauge rail network in the state. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised Indian Railways for achieving this remarkable feat. With this achievement, Indian Railways has completed electrification of BG routes in six Zonal Railways namely East Coast Railway, North Central Railway, North Eastern Railway, Eastern Railway, South Eastern Railway, West Central Railway . In addition, the heavily used network (HUN-5), Jhansi-Muzaffarpur-Katni is now fully electrified.
