QR code system applicable to generic drugs, information about the drug will be available as soon as it is scanned

Bar codes and QR codes are now being prioritized on generic medicines sold in Indore, the financial capital of Madhya Pradesh. Currently, this system has been applied to 300 types of drugs sold in the pharmaceutical market. In fact, Indore is considered a major medical hub of the state and the country. That is why the Basic Drug Dealers Association will mainly monitor the drugs sold here. If we talk about medicines, most of the medicines in Madhya Pradesh are manufactured in Indore, from where they are sold in the retail and wholesale medicine markets of the state.

The same system has been implemented across all drugs sold in the domestic market in Indore, the state’s largest pharma and medical hub. Due to which it will now be very easy to catch fake drugs. General Secretary of Basic Drug Dealers Association JP Moolchandani said that earlier the medicines which were produced in the domestic market in the country had to be exported. QR code or bar code was necessary for this.

Under the unique product identification code in the QR code, all information such as exact generic name of the drug, brand name, name of the company manufacturing the drug, address, batch number, date of manufacture, expiry date and license number. The producer of has been made necessary. It will be necessary to apply it to the sale of any brand of drug formulation. According to a notification by the Central Drug Standard Control Organisation, the rule will apply to all domestic and foreign drug manufacturers who are manufacturing and selling 300 related drugs in India.
