Punjab's first 'Tourism Summit' starts today

Punjab’s first three-day Tourism Summit and Travel Mart is starting today. This convention will be held from September 11, 12 and 13 in Sector-82 of Mohali. Punjab government is waiting for investors not only from Punjab but also from different states of the country.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has released a video inviting everyone to be a part of the tourism summit. He tweeted that the host Punjab is waiting with wide eyes. Tourism Minister Anmol Gagan Mann has also expressed hope that the tourism sector of Punjab will get a lot of benefit from this conference.

The Punjab government is expecting huge investment in the state from its first tourism summit and travel mart. The state government has identified many tourist spots in Pathankot, Sri Muktsar Sahib and many other districts including Mohali, where various activities can be conducted. Various large projects can be established in such places. Wonderla Group may set up theme park and water sports in Mohali by investing Rs 500 crore.

The Punjab government hopes that the first ever Tourism Summit and Travel Mart will be attended by industrialists from various states. Besides the Wonderla Group, Club Mahindra is looking for a better location in or around Mohali. Apart from the theme park and water sports project in Mohali, the Punjab government will approve other projects after consensus is reached and the MoU is signed in the coming days.
