Giving information in this regard, Revenue Minister Bram Shankar Jimpa said that for the convenience of the common people and to streamline the work of the Revenue Department, the government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann took the initiative for the construction of several tehsil/sub-tehsil offices. is People coming to work in these offices will soon be able to work easily in the new and upgraded buildings.

Jimpa said that earlier an amount of Rs 100 crore was approved, but after increasing the budget of some districts, Rs 158 crore has been released so far. This amount is likely to increase further. He said that many offices were running in old and dilapidated buildings and many places lacked facilities. Therefore, money has been released to make these offices up to date.

The revenue minister said that 5.14 crores, 4.31 crores, 10.68 crores and 3.05 crores have been released for the new buildings to be constructed at Chamkaur Sahib, Cheema (Sangrur), Dirba and Banur respectively. Among them, the foundation stone of Cheema and Dirba tehsil complexes was laid by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann himself in May 2023. Apart from this, 6.52 crore rupees have been released for the new tehsil complex of Hoshiarpur. 6.18 crores have been released for the construction of new tehsil complex of Nakodar.

Apart from this, 1.04 crore rupees, 1.47 crore rupees and 1.42 crore rupees have been released for the construction of complexes in three sub-tehsils of Goniana, Nathana and Balianwali of Bathinda district respectively. An amount of Rs 5.98 crore has been given for the Tehsil Complex of Talwandi Sabo.

Gimpa said that 8.61 crore rupees have been released for the construction of a new building at Bassi Pathan in Fatehgarh Sahib district. 3.50 crore has been given for the construction of a new building at Abohar. Similarly, Rs 6.60 crore has been released for Kalnaur, Rs 11.06 crore for Batala, Rs 5.50 crore for Sultanpur Lodhi and Rs 5.98 crore for Tehsil Complex Phagwara.

He further informed that Rs 9.42 crore and Rs 6.69 crore have been released for new complexes to be built in Ahmedgarh and Amargarh of Malerkotla district. Apart from this, the appearance of tehsils/sub-tehsils of many districts of Punjab like Barnala, Faridkot, Samana, Phillaur, Gurdaspur, Ludhiana, Shahkot, Kapurthala, Rupnagar, Dinanagar, Muktsar Sahib, Jalandhar, Pathankot etc. will be improved.
