The thug said that he cheated a travel agent of Jalandhar, Vijay Singh Dogra, of 5 lakh 76 thousand. Vijay Singh Dogra, who runs an office called Travel Expert Vacations Private Limited at Jalandhar BMC Chowk, complained to the police. He received a call that ADGP Chandigarh Alok Kumar was speaking. They have to book flight tickets from Chandigarh to Delhi and a hotel room. Vijay Singh also sent the ticket and booked the room.
The thugs were now convinced that Vijay had fallen into their trap, so they again called ADGP Alok Kumar and said he needed money. He deposited the money in their account. The thugs deposited money in the account several times and each time they said that they would return the money. When Vijay saw that the money had turned into lakhs, he called back.
Travel owner Vijay said that the thugs called him to Mohali and asked him to take his money. When he reached Mohali and called, the thugs told him to reach near the Phase 9 Cricket Stadium. When Vijay Singh reached and called, he got the answer that an urgent case has come, he had to go to the emergency room. 50 thousand in their account, he will return all the money.
Vijay passed another 50 thousand, after that he went to Chandigarh and when he inquired about ADGP Alok Kumar, he got information that there is no such officer in Chandigarh. After this, Vijay filed a complaint in Mohali Face 8 police station. The police reached the thugs while tracing the numbers from which the call had come.
