Chandigarh: Punjab government has decided to recruit in various departments. 16 thousand employees will be recruited to speed up the work in the government departments and reduce the workload on the employees. Confirming this, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema has said that the previous governments did not even try to fill the vacant posts in departments, boards and corporations. Due to this, the work has been affected a lot. Now the recruitment process will be started.
The state government has instructed all the departmental heads to send the vacancy report to the Chief Minister’s Office. After receiving all the reports, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will hold a meeting with the top officials of departments, boards and corporations. After this recruitment will be done on the posts of category-3 and category-4 employees and officers.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has decided in a joint meeting with top officials that long-standing vacancies will not be eliminated, as all vacancies will be filled by providing employment opportunities to the youth.
The Punjab government has claimed to give jobs to 30 thousand people in the last one and a half years. The Punjab government wants to take this figure to 50 thousand in the second year of its tenure.
