The state government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is making continuous efforts to bring back the lost pride of Punjab in the field of sports. A new sports policy is being formulated in which special attention is being given to para sports while giving priority to all sports. Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hare said this in a press statement.
The sports minister further said that the para-athletes have made a name for themselves at the national and international level. Meanwhile, he said that in the last few days, the para sportsmen of Punjab have performed well in the national level competitions of para power lifting, para athletics and para badminton. Athletes from Punjab won a total of 28 medals including 8 gold, 5 silver and 15 bronze medals. The minister congratulated all the medal winners. He said that in the new sports policy, priority is being given to para players and the policy is being made according to the feedback received from the players.
