Students Deport from Canada: About 700 Indian students from Canada are in danger of being deported to India. Most of them are Punjabi students. The Punjab government is also in action mode. Punjab Minister for Non-Resident Indian Affairs Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal held a meeting with Advocate General (AG) Vinod Ghai to represent the students.

NRI Affairs Minister Kuldeep Dhaliwal spoke to AG Vinod Ghai about the legal side to help the students. He said that Chief Minister Punjab Bhagwant Mann has given instructions to provide all possible help to all the students. The Punjab government is trying to avert the threat of deportation by lobbying for all 700 Indian students.

Minister Dhaliwal said that he has discussed all the legal aspects after talking to the AG. Along with this, he has given instructions to find a lawyer related to the immigration case and to pursue the case of the students. He said that he will write a letter to the Canadian Ambassador in Delhi and the Immigration Minister of Canada. Along with this, a letter will also be written to the Indian ambassador in Canada. The minister said that the fourth letter would be written to the college from where the Indian students have studied, so that they can be helped.

Minister Kuldeep Dhaliwal said that the investigation has found that the Indian students have not deliberately committed any forgery. The travel agent has cheated him and the Punjab government will take strict legal action against the guilty travel agent.
