December 28 has been announced as a public holiday by the Punjab government. On this day, all educational institutions and government offices, boards, corporations of the state will remain closed.

This decision has been taken by the Punjab government keeping Shahidi Sabha, Sri Fatehgarh Sahib as the main. The state government has issued a notification in this regard. In the notification issued, it is stated that December 28 has been declared a public holiday in view of Shahidi Jod Mela. Government institutions, boards, corporations, banks and commercial establishments will remain closed on this day.
