Patiala News: Minister for Local Government Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar has announced that the state government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has decided to spend around Rs 2.27 crore on development projects in Patiala. The official process for these projects has already started.
Giving information in this regard, Minister for Local Government Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar said that the development projects will include outsourcing of sanitation workers for the health department of Municipal Corporation Patiala, the estimated cost of which is 1.50 crores.
The government has also given approval for the cleaning of the external large dirty drain from Gurdwara Akalgarh Sahib to Chhaju Bhat at Nabha Municipal Council at a cost of 32.85 lakh rupees. In addition, cleaning of internal sewage drains at various locations in Nabha city at Municipal Council Nabha is expected to incur a cost of Rs 33.61 lakh.
Apart from this, the government will install a traffic signal system at a cost of Rs 10.58 lakh on the Lower Mall Road of Patiala at Municipal Corporation Patiala.
Dr Nijjar added that the Local Government Department has already started the office process for these development projects. In this regard, the tender has been uploaded on the Punjab Government website www.eproc.punjab.gov.in. The minister further said that if any amendment is required in the terms and conditions of the tenders, all the amended information will be uploaded on the above website.
These development projects are expected to provide better living facilities to the citizens of Patiala and Nabha as well as significant improvements in the areas of sanitation, traffic management and overall infrastructure development.
He directed the officials of the department to ensure transparency and quality in development projects.
