MP from Patiala and former External Affairs Minister Praneet Kaur raised the issue of cancellation of Ambala-Sri Ganganagar Intercity Express in the Lok Sabha today.

Speaking during the hearing of matters of urgent public importance in the Lok Sabha today, the Patiala MP said, โ€œSpeaker sir, through you I would like to bring to the notice of the Ministry of Railways that the Northern Railway authorities have ordered train number 14525/14526 Ambala- Sri Ganganagar Intercity Express has been closed for 3 months citing foggy weather.

Without keeping in mind that this train is essential for the working people of North India and most convenient for monthly season ticket holders who commute daily to other cities to reach their jobs.โ€

Praneet Kaur added, “Around 1000 people from my Patiala Parliamentary Constituency alone commute by these two trains daily and this is the only mail train that runs from Ambala Cantt to Sri Ganganagar from morning to late evening.”

Former External Affairs Minister Praneet Kaur added, “The livelihood of thousands of people has been badly affected by the withdrawal of this train and I appeal to the Railway Minister to look into the matter and restart this train as soon as possible.” .โ€
