PM Modi congratulated the citizens of Maharashtra and Gujarat on their foundation day

Today 1st May is being celebrated as the foundation day of Maharashtra and Gujarat. On this special occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the citizens of both the states and wished them prosperity and progress.

The Prime Minister wrote in a tweet, Happy Maharashtra Day. The state has a very good culture and the people here are hardworking. He has enhanced the progress of the country in various fields. I pray for the continued progress of Maharashtra in the coming years. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also congratulated the people of Gujarat on the foundation day. He tweeted that Happy Gujarat Foundation Day. Gujarat has made its mark due to its all-round progress as well as its unique culture. I pray that the state continues to touch new heights of development in the times to come. The Prime Minister also congratulated the citizens of his home state in Gujarati language.

Maharashtra and Gujarat came into existence as separate states on May 1 of different years. Earlier both the states were part of Bombay state. Raj Bhavan programs of around 30 states will be held today on the foundation day of both the states. According to the information, people of Maharashtra and Gujarat origin will be hosted in the Raj Bhavan. Along with this, a glimpse of the culture and cuisine of both the states will be presented. On May 1, programs will be held in Raj Bhavans of various states including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Assam and Uttarakhand.
